SGA (Student Government Association):
The SGA plans spirit week, the pep rally, conducts blood drives, fundraising events, and charity drives. The students also attend leadership conferences and workshops. Students are selected through an application process. Applications become available in the spring for the following school year.

Senior Class Council:
The council members sponsor homecoming, senior sweats, a winter fundraiser (such as Dancing with the Teachers), prom, and the senior trip.

Juniors need to submit applications in the spring to be considered for the following school year.
Junior Class Council:
This council organizes and participates in a variety of fundraising activities to earn money for their senior year activities. The largest fundraiser is an annual spring dance (Sadies) and Winter event planned by the council.

ACADEMIC CLUBS - GENERAL
Academic Team:
A non-sports competitive team. This club represents CMW in various academic competitions throughout the year.

Speech/Debate Team:
This club is open to all students. Students will develop skills in public speaking and debate. Competitions will be held between all high schools in the county. Students can join at any time during the year.

HONOR SOCIETIES
National Honor Society:
The NHS welcomes sophomores and juniors who have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher to join. Once invited, students fill out an application where they share their service, leadership, and character. Applications are due in March. Students are then selected by a Faculty Counsel. NHS offers tutoring to all students at no cost, and sponsors the variety show and spring festival.

National Art Honor Society
This honor society is open to 10th-12th fine art students. Art students will apply for membership in the fall and must maintain a B average in all art classes. Members will complete service hours during the school year and work on art projects for the school and community.

French National Honor Society:
The French National Honor Society is made up of students who have completed at least 1 semester of French 3 and maintained an overall average of 3.2 and an average of 3.5 in French.

German National Honor Society:
Delta Epsilon Phi (ΔΕΦ) National Honor Society for High School Students of German recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of learners of German. Students must have completed German 1, 2, and 3 with an average GPA of 3.3 in German and a 3.0 overall GPA

Science National Honor Society
Students are invited to join the CMW chapter of the Science National Honor Society in October. Invitations for membership in the CMW SNHS are based on science and overall grade point average and enrollment in at least two full credit science courses in 11th/12th grade.

Spanish National Honor Society:
To be considered for the Spanish National Honor Society, students must be a current Level 3 Spanish student and be registered for Level 4 for the following year. All students must have a 3.2 overall GPA and a 3.5 Spanish GPA. SNHS students complete a service activity each quarter and must attend our induction ceremony in the Spring.

Mu Alpha Theta – Math Honor Society:

ACADEMIC – ENGLISH AND THE ARTS
Literary Magazine, Shout:
Shout offers student writers and artists the chance to be published and demonstrate their creative talent. Any student of C. Milton Wright High School may submit a short story, poem, play, nonfiction piece, painting, sketch, drawing, or photograph. All students are welcome to join and be part of the selection process of student and staff submitted work.

We meet once a week, usually the last Friday of the month. Our club is a relaxed atmosphere to chat about books that you've read during the month. Each month we choose a genre and then you pick the title you'd like to read!

CMWC (The C. Milton Wrighting Center)
The staff of the CMWC is made up of trained, student writing advisors who provide one-on-one writing sessions for students in any grade or class. They offer assistance with any assignment that involves writing. Virtual and email sessions are available 7 days a week by appointment. In-person sessions are available for walk-ins and appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays before and after school in room 211.

ACADEMIC – MATH
Math League
All students are invited to participate in Math League. Math League is a 6-question, 30-minute math quiz that utilizes a variety of problem solving skills, ranging from “logical brainteasers” to advanced ideas from upper-level math courses. Gender/Sexuality Alliance (G.S.A)
Gender/Sexuality Alliance (G.S.A) is a community organization dedicated to educating, supporting, and advocating for students in minority populations here at CMW, specifically members of the LGBT+ community. The group has bi-weekly meetings where we meet, discuss important issues, discuss student-generated topics from the group, and hang out. The group also hosts school wide education events, social events, visual (poster campaigns), and works in partnership with other groups to further the support for students in Alliance. It is a fun, educational, safe-space, and we’d love to have you join!
